Memory Support at Allen House
A secure neighborhood is locked for residents who may wander without regard for their safety. Our residents are always accompanied by staff or family member when they leave the neighborhood to ensure their security. Residents of Allen House spend time outdoors or within the greater community at least daily for supervised exercise and other activities.
All staff working in our memory care neighborhood must have a minimum of 7 hours of orientation prior to being scheduled to work there. These hours must be specifically directed to working with those who have specialized care. Ongoing in-service education and training must consist of 10 hours with at least 6 hours focused on the specialized needs of Residents with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.
Yes, should your loved one get agitated, we will do our very best to ease their fears and make them as comfortable as possible. By knowing our residents well, we can often avoid these situations.
