20th Anniversary Celebration

Springhouse Senior Living celebrated our 20th Anniversary on Sunday, May 7th. We honored 5 of our original residents, who 20 years later are still living at Springhouse, no doubt due to the wonderful care they have received! Pictured here are, left to right, Dr.

It all started with a simple conversation, Karen Pollack, Director of Community Relations, had with Dr. Elinor “Fuzzy” Downs regarding her upcoming 106th birthday. Karen met with Fuzzy in early August to inquire what she wanted for her big birthday.

The annual reading of work from “Telling Your Story,” a senior seminar in autobiographical writing, was held on Wednesday, May 23. “Telling Your Story,” sponsored by Brookline Adult and Community Education, is now in its 22nd year, and the writings from its members continue to be fresh and funny, touching and wise.

On March 20, Springhouse Senior Living held a Balance Clinic for our residents. The staff from Encompass Healthcare Services came and led the group for balance testing. Balance in older adults is very important. Every year, one in three adults 65 or older falls at least once. In older people, falls can be serious.

Now that the school year is in full swing, Springhouse is happy to welcome back several groups of student interns and volunteers as well as a few new ones!
