What is an entrance fee community?
Springhouse Independent Living is an entrance fee community, also known as the 90 Percent Capital Plan. This means that during the first ten months of occupancy, the refundable amount of the resident’s entrance fee declines at the rate of one percent per month. For example, after three months of residency, a resident would receive 97% entrance fee refund, after six months, a 94% refund. After ten months, a resident’s entrance fee refund stays at 90% for as long as that resident lives at Springhouse.
When a resident moves out of Springhouse, the 90% of their entrance fee is returned to them, their estate or legally designated beneficiary.
Is it possible to have breakfast and/or lunch in addition to the dinner meal?
The independent living residents are provided with restaurant style dining every evening for dinner. Residents may purchase breakfast and/or lunch in addition; however, they need do so by the month. Breakfast and lunch are both served with the assisted living residents in the main dining room.
Is free parking provided for my car?
Residents receive a free assigned parking spot at Springhouse. The maintenance staff will clear off your vehicle after each snowstorm.
Are there additional charges per month?
Each resident is responsible for payment of their cable and internet services directly through Comcast. Springhouse will bill the resident for the telephone as this is tied directly to our emergency response system. Telephone services are $30 per month. Hot water, electric, heat, and air conditioning are all included in Springhouse’s monthly fee.
Are pets allowed at Springhouse?
Cats and dogs, weighing less than 20 pounds are allowed at Springhouse at the discretion of the Executive Director. The resident must be able to take of the pet on his/her own. There must also be an alternate plan to care for the pet in the event of an unexpected hospitalization. Pets are not allowed in the common areas of Springhouse due to the potential of allergy related issues for some residents.
