Nautilus Training Program

Our assisted living activities coordinator, Sheila Caccavaro, offers a training program to independent and assisted living residents. This monitored program helps residents work on their range of motion and gradual strength building with several pieces of Nautilus equipment that target specific muscle groups. Studies have established that strength training is a safe and beneficial activity for adults of all ages. Springhouse Veterans Featured on BNN

As part of Senior Palooza and the pursuit of intergenerational programming, the 6th grade history class at Sacred Heart Roslindale interviewed four World War II veterans from Springhouse. BNN filmed this segment as part of the program The Next One Up: Intergenerational Conversation.

Residents Participate in the MFA’s Access to the Art Program

Residents of Ledgemont and Allen House regularly visit the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) through the Access to the Art program. This program, sponsored by Bank of America, provides a free tour tailored specifically for people with Alzheimer’s disease. Residents walk through galleries of early 20th century art and impressionism.

Springhouse Retirement Community is now offering residents an easy way to use technology to explore their interests. The computer system, “It’s Never 2 Late,” provides seniors with a user-friendly touch screen method to engage in brain fitness games, research topics of interest, send emails, Skype with family members and much more.
