What is a community fee?
Springhouse requires all new permanent residents to pay a one time community fee prior to move in. This fee is used by Springhouse to offset the cost of furnishing and maintaining the shared common areas which make up nearly half of the assisted living residence, i.e., dining rooms, library, social rooms and maintenance of the grounds. The community fee is refundable on a pro-rated basis if the resident moves within the first three months of occupancy. This fee is equivalent to one month’s rent.
How much care can I expect to receive?
Most residents in assisted living receive up to one hour a day for personal care. This is broken down into increments. The resident may receive morning care then perhaps escort to meals, or medication management or evening care as well. The total care is about one hour per day.
What types of room options could I choose from?
There are three types of apartment styles in assisted living. There are studio apartments which are single one room apartments with private bathroom. Suite apartments consist of two standard studio apartments side by side offering two private bathrooms. In this type unit one side of the apartment is used as a bedroom and the other as the living area. In addition, there are a limited number of standard one bedroom apartments offering a small bedroom with living room and private bathroom.
Is there transportation to medical appointments?
Yes, there is transportation to medical appointments. The personal transportation is provided by the Springhouse van. The driver will drop you off at your destination and then when called, will return to pick you up and return to Springhouse. Reservations are made by calling the concierge desk.
